The Village Links of Glen Ellyn features a top-rated
7200 yard championship 18-hole course that has long been recognized
as one of the elite layouts
in the Midwest. The course has hosted several top tournaments and qualifyings including the 1986 Illinois Open Championship, 25 Western Open Qualifyings and 5 U.S. Open Sectional Qualifyings. The regulation length 9-hole course was the front nine of the original 18-hole layout and is ideal for casual play.

2004 Renovation - In 2004, Garrett Gill, son of the original architect, designed a complete renovation of the 18-hole course. While much of the original routing was retained, every hole is notably different. Every green, tee, fairway and sand bunker was rebuilt. Sixteen water hazards were repositioned. 400 trees were removed to allow the addition of 300 yards from the back tees. The biggest change was the new championship greens that are larger, faster and more challenging than the original greens. The new greens give golfers a sense of the modern championship conditions routinely found on the PGA Tour, and the added challenge helps golfers improve their game. Typically three clubs deep, the new greens require more thoughtful approach shots. While the intricate putting contours can be treacherous, the smooth A-4 bentgrass putting surfaces make it easier to sink long putts.
